The project, led by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mod-langs.ox.ac.uk\/people\/henrike-laehnemann\">Henrike L\u00e4hnemann<\/a> (Oxford) and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.geschichte.hhu.de\/en\/abteilungen\/mittelalterliche-geschichte\/unser-team\/univ-prof-dr-eva-schlotheuber\">Eva Schlotheuber<\/a> (D\u00fcsseldorf), has run since 2016, and in 2020 reached the mile-stone of making the first letter-book with 427 of the 1,800 letters fully accessible online, including English and German summaries of all the letters, a full commentary of the historic context, a substantial <a href=\"http:\/\/diglib.hab.de\/edoc\/ed000248\/texts\/0-Gliederung-Einleitung-fuer-Web.pdf\">introduction <\/a>and the option to read the letters in a diplomatic or normalised version &#8211; and all open access! The money will fund two post-doctoral positions, to be held by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.torch.ox.ac.uk\/article\/sending-letters-and-a-unicorn-how-medieval-nuns-coped-with-social-distancing\">Dr Lena Vosding<\/a> in Oxford and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.geschichte.hhu.de\/en\/abteilungen\/mittelalterliche-geschichte\/unser-team\/dr-des-philipp-trettin\">Dr Philipp Trettin<\/a> in D\u00fcsseldorf. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In 2020, \u00a0the Gerda Henkel Stiftung also sponsored a <a href=\"https:\/\/lisa.gerda-henkel-stiftung.de\/nonnen_klosterluene?language=en\">film series: The Nuns&#8217; Network<\/a>, consisting of six episodes featuring the history of the convent, the editing process, key findings from the letters and an interview with the two project directors, Eva Schlotheuber and Henrike L\u00e4hnemann.
